So Martha tagged me to write 8 random things, well not really, she just vaguely said she tags us all. And seeing as Martha is the only person who reads my blog i feel I should indulge:

1: I was a vege-quarian for 8 years, now I am a fussy-tarian who just eats the meaty bits I feel like - which is mostly chicken pies, yum.

2: I know small amounts of spanish and french, SMALL amounts

3: I used to be in the school choir, and even did choir after I finished school - nerd!

4: I was one of the 3% of choir girls who wasn't christian. Still aint either.

5: I like bad music, like really bad music.

6: I also like really really good music.

7: I cry in movies a lot, especially when animals die or old men fall over.

8: I have eaten two bowls of cocoa pops today but i usually eat wheat free muesli.

ok three posts in three hours is excessive I know, but I was just scrolling through my last posts (8 months ago) and re-read the one from when I got back from NZ. In it I talked of spending lots of lovely quality time with my old dog Barney who was very old indeed.

I just wanted to let the readers know that dear old Barney died recently just from being a very old dog. He was really a wonderfully charismatic pooch. Not always well behaved but always entertaining and loving.

The first day we got Barney home he took everything from the pantry (flour, cat biscuits, cocoa, baking power, spagetti and so on and so on) and laid it out in the hallway. Then he ate it all and then threw it up again in a big floury pancake mix like mess. He had abandonment issues did Barney. We will all miss him very much xx

Well since I decided to post that last one I have managed to waste an hour making all the font different shades of purple, why? I don't know why, I don't even like purple.

So to let you in on what I am avoiding I am currently trying to construct my thesis book. This is a graphical document showing the work I have done thus far for my thesis or final project. It has to be all pretty and bound etc and also must make sense which I must admit seems to be the most difficult element at the moment. Why did I chose such a strange and confusing topic? why why why?

One day soon I will tell you all what it is....

just back today from nearly a month of blissfull nothingness in New Zealand. I had a wonderfull holiday sharing my time between my dad and step mum in wellington and my mum in greytown. What did you do on this holiday you ask? Mostly watched the living and food channel, ahh, and occasional bursts of gardening and a serious amount of grazing like a large land mamal (more than a humourous simile believe me).

I had a sojourn to the hawkes bay with me dad to visit cousins that did not even know i existed 'rosie? I don't have a cousin called rosie" but now they know ah hahah ha! And saw my nany which was nice.

Also spent some quality time with my old dog barney, he is the snore of king kong in the peter jackson motion picture. He is a cool old dog, very old now.

And of course all my wonderful siblings were around for festivus minus shaun and will in london (that is not really all is it? most anyway)

Now I am back and warm and happy and I am going to go for a swim without fear of hypothermia which is always reassuring.

On monday I handed in my last little bitch of assesment for the semester, hoorah!!

I am celebrating by eating a lot of porridge.

I ate a lot of porridge before too though...

However my freedom is fleeting, I am doing a spring elective starting this monday in espanol (that is spanish for spanish in case you did not know). Although this is back to the drudge I am happy because it is only 3 weeks long and it the same points value as a whole semester elective and I love Spanish and it will be so different from design work it will be like a holiday anyway.

At the end we will have a test! A test!

well I did try. I just watched greece vs australia in the warm up soccer game before the world cup. Of course normally under any circumstance i would root for whoever is not australia (unless its South Africa) but in this game AU was by far the underdog so I half heartedly tried to root for them. IT didn't work. And Australia won.

Everyone tells me I should be going for australia in the world cup but I can't do it! I hate Australia!!(in sport) They're such arrogant bastards!! and they're too good!

I am now trying to decide who to root for. They need to be kinda an underdog but also with a posibiliy of winning, I'm thinking spain... and ideas?

Well the moan list hasn't got much shorter, I am still a sicky pants. Hopeless. And the moan list got bigger 2 days ago when our hot water cylinder broke, thats what you love in winter eh?

But our funny old lady landlord came to the rescue and we got a new hot water cylinder and finaly a new stove, hooray! The stove has been an issue for a while as is was so old and corroded that it was leaking gas (fun). Although when she came around she tried to tell me that it was my fault 'what you expec, iss so dirrty, no broken' (does that translate to italian accent?)

I tested it out with some gourmet popcorn making last night, was sensational

So I went to a new docor yesterday and she was so NICE! Hooray! I was so upset about the way the horrible medical center doctor had treated me I wasn't sure if a good one would exist. She agreed about all my symptoms (that they existed and I wasn't making it up) and even said things like "you poor thing". Brilliant!

All doctors should be like this, I don't know why the majority of them try to begrudge us our illness.

well I'm sitting here at school, it is 10.15pm. I have my mid-semester presentation due tomorrow. I stayed up till 3am last night sewing thread through a cardboard model. I am rendering 3d modelling frames on the computer. They are taking FOROEVER. I had hoped to be home at 7pm for the biggest loser. Shane got voted out i hear. Six feet under is on in 15 minutes. I am so tired. I will not be going to bed tonight. My face is a haggus. Mum comes wednesday (yay). House is disgusting. We have no vacuum and two cats= fluffy scum everywhere. One frame has been rendering for about 20 minute, not sure weather to cancel and try to fix problem or leave it as it has got so far.

I am delerious.

Well I must admit when the OC started on tv a couple of years ago I must have thought I was pretty cool and didn't watch the first series. Twas not untill last year through procrastinating school work did I happen upon it regularly and started to feel the magic. Now I am OBSESSED! It is the best thing on tv (with exception of six feet under which we finaly have the last season of, all you new zealanders shut up and don't tell me what happens!). My friends and I quite often have OC nights when we get together to watch and drink champagne.

My friend Di, like me, didn't watch the first season. Luckily for ME she has bought the complete first season on DVD which came home with me last night. The pilot episode was SO GOOD I cried tears of joy! And it has only deepened my obsession with my favourite character Sandy Cohen. OH Sandy! He is such a dream! He is the perfect husband, caring, charming, very funny and of course handsome! Sighhh....

One little episode turned into four consecutive episodes last night, uh oh....

Minka and Juans Wedding, aw

tis wedding season, somehow marriage is trendy again, i find this a little disconcerting having committed myself to the 1990's view that marriage is like so not cool and a dying institution etc etc however I am glad it is cool again (yes I know everyone loves each other, not just marrying coz its cool bale blah) because I am very much enjoying attending weddings, hooray!

So minka and juan got married a week or so ago at St Jeromes, the bar at which they first met as they are both dj's. They are both super cool and looked amazing but I have no photos so use your imagination. Twas lovely ceremony etc etc

the HIGHLIGHT of the evening was my little pack of rosamonds (the cafe I work at where minka used to work) getting rip-roaring drunk and behaving like fools. No-one else would come near us. It was the drunkest I have been all year. After skulling booze for about 8 hours we started dancing, what minka calls slam dancing, which means we were just sort of jumping around and falling over onto each other but managing to bounce back up.

The most embarrassing point was me talking to juan about how great they are and how some people are meant to be together (sob) and some people aren't (sob) and it was beautiful, (sniff ) and they are great and meant to be together but not everyone can be together (sob) and Juan just walked off in the middle of my speech, fair enough too, I was terribly tragic.

oh dear, fell off the blog radar. Sometimes it is so hard to get back into blog mode. I have finished uni now for the year so I have no need to procrastinate therefore blog has been neglected (have still been reading everyone elses). I might fill you in on my activities in installments:

Installment 1:

My cousin Zigi had her 30th birthday a few weeks ago and to celebrate a big gang of us went up to daylesford for the weekend (daylesford is like greytown for melbourne) twas lovely! Totally over-ate and over-drank and over-booty danced. And a special treat was my other b e a utifull cousin sunshine came over from auckland for the event so was really nice to spend some QT with the yates girls.

Yay! I have finished uni for the year!!! Horray!! This is a landmark as I have now finished a whole year of uni in melbourne!!! yayayayayay! This means I only have two years to go (hmm that actually sounds bad) AND I am on holiday until febuary!!!!!!!

I still have to make a portfolio of my work from the semester but that doesn't involve and real brain power, just cut and paste.

O M G I cannot believe it is over! Yesterday was the wedding of Ben and Diana and it was so wonderfull! It is bizarre because it has been all we talk about at work for the whole year and now it is over! wah!

So it was at the melbourne wine society which is a beautifull old building with cellars where the party was. Di looked amazing and Ben looked very handsome. Ben is an art director so he decked the place out with amazing hearts with light bulbs on them and pink and white fake rose garlands wrapped around the pillars in the cellar, they even had a swan ice sculpture!

Well I feel very ill now and I have to try to pull together an entire project due in on tuesday (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) and then uni is over for the year (yayaayyyyyyyy) luckily I still have plenty of grotty treats from emily and jan to munch on.

I should just mention that I cried like a baby during the speeches, it was just all so wonderfull and romantic! And I couldn't stop crying for ages afterwards! Di was like 'rosie, its over now, cheer up' so anyway now I have big puffy eyes and a grey face,

well it's been a full on last few days, and its not over yet. I had an assignment due wednesday night, worked all day thursday and then went to Di's hens night on a boat on the yarra, it was pirate themed and definatly arrrr rated! Was very hungover this morning and had to go to uni for another hand in (arrr,) and when I came home after I was in need of a fix.....

when alas the most glorious thing happened, I recieved my belated birthday from emily and jan filled with new zealand goodies! There couldn't have been a more appropriate time of arrival! So I got into bed and ate mallow-puffs and had a nap (there was also fantastic Dave Dobbyn Cd and native woods of new zealand ruler) yay, so thanks you guys you are life savers! Now I must go to bed as am tired with a belly ache.

My flatmates Anna and Carrie think that I should blog a top ten of my stupid antics, as they get such joy out of the riddiculous things I do everyday. On visiting my blog carrie thought my fellow bloggers would also like to laugh at me, hey everyone else is doing it! Apparently I am a very 'good sport' for putting up with the mockings, what they don't know is I love the attention, ha ha haha!

I couldn't remember 10 in one go so here is the top five:

1 After preparing a delicious dinner of vege sausages and salad for myself and my new boyfriend we migrated to the living room to commence eating. I sat down on the sofa and looked to the coffee table for my plate when I felt burning on my bum, ‘ow!’ I proclaimed, and then to explain the situation my flatmate Anna excitedly shouts ‘she sat on it! She sat on her dinner!’ I had in fact put my plate on the sofa and then sat down right on top of it.

2 My bike accident, see earlier post. Nothing like crashing you bike after excitedly ringing your bell at someone you know

3 The other day on my way home from my disappointing fitness test (1: poor) I was riding down the bike path and had to ring my bell as two guys were sauntering along in my way. The moved obligingly and then as I rode past that noticed my (super cool in my opinion) shiny silver helmet and yelled ‘hey chrome dome, ha ha ha, nice helmet’ At this point I think my bum crack (or eftpos as Anna calls it) was visible but I couldn’t pull up my pants as I was too ashamed.

Anna and I were in my room one night eating dolmades and googling people and I said to her ‘I am the clumsiest person in the world’ in the next 30 seconds I tipped the dolmades bowl over onto my duvet, spilt all the content of my clutch pencil sharpener on the duvet and then dropped my mobile phone into a glass of water, amazing.

whoops, super horrible blog spam. Dum de do, not sure if I have an opinion on anything today,

ooh yes I know, my muff arived today (no i didn't just hit puberty) part of my outfit for di and ben's wedding is a blood red possum pelt that my friend jek in sydney has very kindly sent down for me. She even wrapped it up and put a ribbol around it so it was like a present.

Now, i'm not sure if my blogging community is approving of wearing fur, and generally I am not (well not leopards or seals) but I figure possums are a nasty pest and eat nz birds and once one got into my room at my dads house and shat all over my bed and somehow smeared its shit all over the walls too. There was even little shitty paw prints everywhere and I could see it had used its paws to smear the shit. So anyway sucked in possum, now I will look beautifull thanks to your skin, ah hah ha ha ha!!! ah ah , ar ahhaha hahha hha hahha!!!

So I handed in 3 assignments thismorning (this is not the awesome part trust me) and I came home to have a much needed nap but before I napped I managed to successfully put fingerwaves in my hair can you believe it?

Anyone who has attempted fingerwaves armed with only the help of one paragraph in an issue of cleo will understand that it is very tricky, luckily for me whilst procrastination I stumbled across this site of tricks for 40's haridos.

My friends Di and Ben are getting married saturday week so all I want to do is practice my hair and makeup but I have to do school work, ahhh!!!

I am currently writing this post in my dress and heels,hmm should get changed now...

I will not go into too many details but I had to go to the women's hospital today to have a microscope and other unfortunate things explore me at the hand of an overweight middle aged man (he was a doctor). During this process whilst in a rather vulnerable position in an unaccomodating special chair the doctor, whose hands were otherwise engaged, sneezed. Twice.

Not a stifled sneeze mind you, no attempt was made to re-direct or control the sneeze. This could be the worst possible case of gynecologist etiquette ever experienced.

I thought I should write it down should I ever write a sitcom 'sex and the city' style.

I did a fitness test at the gym today and I got 1: poor.

I guess being totally ripped and looking hot in a purple bikini has no effect on your fitness level.

The guy who did my test was a bogan with a manklace (man's necklace) and adult braces.

I joined the gym this week (feeling panicked about bridesmaid dress being only 3 months away) and this morning I went for the second time, whoo hoo! I also took my flatmate anna along so I will have company. The gym is cool because it is part of the brunswick baths so has and indoor and outdoor pool and the gym part has big windows over looking the outdoor pool so is very soothing.

I am seeing amazing results in only two visits so have included this back shot of me, sorry you can't see my face but I am wearing my favourite purple bikini.

Sorry for being out of blog mode, I have had the last week off from uni (horray) but now I have to go back tomorrow so I have to do some work (boo)

I had my lovely rosamond boss's Anna and Di (and their partners campbell and ben )around for dinner on wednesday night, twas my first dinner party in my new house and kind of my first dinner party all round. Obviously I've had people round for tea before but not formally, anway..

I spend about 3 day preparing, scrubbing the house, getting nice flowers and planning the foor. Everything was going well when I sat down to have my dinner and my roast potatos were raw! I had checked them and the one i checked was lovely and cooked but half of them werent cooked at all, they were crunchy and wet and horrible!

I blame the incedent on my oven which is super shit because they were in there for a bout an hour and a half.

How embarrassing, mortifying.

anyway everyone said everything was great (lyers) and a good time was had by all.
