Schoolastic update

I figure I can justify spending time on my blog if i put my school work on it to keep the fandamily up to date on the crazy things i'm doing and where their hand earned money is going. So my major project for the semester is part of a design competition is Turkey, the brief for the competition is very open basically the design should be "extreme" and thats it. So our teachers made us all write our own proposition of what we are going to do and gave us the site of the Bolte Bridge in melbourne (see previous post of 3d model) here is my weirdo proposition:

Proposition (reviewed)

Bolte Bridge

Rosie Scott

The Bolte Bridge is situated amid a turbulence of mostly invisible systems relating to the weather, light, traffic, the Yarra River and the city. The atmosphere breathes and resonates yet the bridge itself remains stoic, it is unsympathetic to its environment.

This project seeks to reconceptualise the bridge as a living organism. The information from the surrounding environment is used as a growth force to define a fictitious yet engaging cellular structure that makes up the Bolte Bridge.
This process transforms the bridge into a dense network of millions of cellular components. Thus, the investigation defines these environments and allows us to experience their interiority.

The design will allow people experiencing the bridge at a macro scale (from the city or driving over the bridge) to visually get a sense of the “body” of the bridge and to experience its corporeal presence. It will also invite people to investigate the bridge at a “cellular” level, experiencing these cells spatially and absorbing information about the organism that is the Bolte Bridge.

So anyway that should inform you of the wanky talk that I participate in everyday

thanks for the mention of your blog ems, good to know we have a happy bloggin community
